No-one likes talking about fees and payment. So I offer options and price points to make things as clear and simple as possible
Option 1
'Set menu' for when you want a fixed price
This is used when the client has a set budget, or I'm asked to provide a fixed price for a particular project. I look at the job, figure out how many hours it would take and then quote a price. This price will be honoured - so there will be no surprises on the bill. In very rare circumstances something happens which may mean I need to re-quote, but I will always agree this in advance with the client.
Option 2
Save around 20% on fees with a monthly retainer
Several clients like this arrangement because it allows them to budget their marketing and PR costs through the year. We come to an arrangement on how much time the client would like to buy, and then agree a schedule of activities to deliver against. A retainer arrangement saves a client around 20% of the costs they would spend on an A la Carte arrangement. This is payable via standing order or ongoing Paypal payment.
A word on expenses and purchasing things on your behalf
I'm not in the business of 'marking up' expenses. I just want a fair day's pay for a fair day's work. So if I purchase anything on your behalf (e.g. print, graphic design, photography), I always arrange for the supplier to invoice you directly. This means you get the best possible price, and I don't have to take the risk in carrying large amounts of expense. For all other small things, I will charge to you at cost.
